Also, according to Apple, there are over 250,000 different podcasts with over a billion subscribers. That’s amazing for a medium that’s really only been around for about a decade. I am a huge podcast listener, it’s been my main source of entertainment for years, but recently, I’ve started to also use podcasts as an education medium. As the founder of Proven, a job board designed for small businesses, I strive to educate myself to become a better manager, leader and business owner. I have now turned to business-related podcasts as a way to continually improve. 5 Podcasts Business Owners Should Be Listening To In this article, I will highlight a few of my favorite business podcasts and hopefully inspire you to start listening as well. 1. The Suitcase Entrepreneur Website: http://suitcaseentrepreneur.com/category/live/ This podcast is all about how to run a successful business from anywhere in the world. Back in June 2016, we took Proven fully remote. I now work from home and my business partner works in a different city in a different timezone. We have employees across 3 different states and two different countries, so this podcast is a perfect place to learn how to do this more effectively. Each week, Natalie Sisson interviews different entrepreneurs for 25-30 minutes about how to succeed with an online business and create a lifestyle you want. There’s great actionable tips, especially related to branding and marketing. 2. Entrepreneur on Fire Website: http://www.eofire.com/podcast/ This podcast comes out daily. The host, John Lee Dumas, interviews a wide range of successful small business owners ranging from musicians to startup founders. He dives into their story and the industry they are in. One unique aspect of the show is that Dumas freely discusses his monthly earnings, which I find strangely motivating for my own goals. 3. The Tim Ferriss Show Website: http://fourhourworkweek.com/podcast/ Tim Ferriss, writer of the book The 4-Hour Workweek, hosts one of the most popular business podcasts available. It consistently ranks first in iTunes for business podcasts and has even ranked first out of all podcasts in the entire store. The show typically comes out a couple of times of week and focuses on how to be more productive. He’s interviewed guests like Tony Robbins and Arnold Schwarzenegger, but many shows dive deep into Tim’s own practices and habits. 4. Youpreneur FM Website: http://www.chrisducker.com/podcast/ Chris Ducker is an entrepreneur and author. He hosts a weekly podcast focused on helping people build a personal brand business. It’s great for anyone working as a freelancer, consultant, blogger, or in my case, a remote company founder. Similar to the Suitcase Entrepreneur podcast, Chris focuses on helping you create a great work life balance. He has an interesting background where he went from working 14 hour work days, 6 days a week to now working a 6 hour day with Friday’s off. 5. Growth Everywhere Website: https://growtheverywhere.com/ This podcast is primarily focused on marketing. Each week, Eric Siu interviews other entrepreneurs about their digital marketing strategies. This is a great podcast for anyone running a business that relies heavily on SEO, content marketing or social marketing. It’s also great if you are considering any of those channels for your own business. One thing I love about this podcast is that the tips are very actionable. You can get real strategy advice that you can then apply in your own business. Final Thoughts There are tons of great business podcasts about there. We really only scratched the surface in this article with a few of my personal favorites. Most of the business podcasts are relatively short, 25-45 minutes, and they are filled with tons of free advice that can help your business grow or help your personal growth. Doing a little passive business education is a great way to jazz up your commute or in my case, my daily walk with my dog.
